Tuesday 13th July 2010 - Summer Ladies Luncheon
Ladies come on and don your Summer frocks and join us for our Annual Summer Ladies
Luncheon! This year we will be joined by our guest Speaker - Rachel Green - Lincolnshire's very
own Celebrity Chef.
Rachel has made a name for herself by her passionate and committed championing of
British produce. She has several television series under her belt – from ITV Yorkshire’s
Flying Cook and World on a Plate, to Kill It Cook It! Eat! On BBC3 and Farm of Fussy
Eaters on UK TV Style.

Monthly Networking Evenings -
As so many of you couldn't make out monthly networking meetings on a Wednesday evening
we have now moved these to a Tuesday evening to try entice some of our other
members along to join us at our meetings.
The events will usually cost just £5 to include light refreshments (with the exception of the
Summer Ladies Luncheon and the Christmas Event).

Some tips and advice to help deal with difficult people, whether you run your own company or
work for someone else, whether your business is small and local or a large multi-national; and
no matter what sector you work in; the one thing that is common to all is the need to deal with
difficult people.
This is often the cause of stress and anxiety, can reduce your performance at work and if left
unchecked can lead to you being labelled as ‘difficult’.
We will identify some of the different types of difficult people (no doubt you will be able to
recognise some!) and the strategies to manage them. We’ll also look at some more general
tips and guidance for handling difficult people and conflict.
Beth runs Tyrrel Consulting Ltd, a business specialising in improving business performance and
designing and implementing change in all kinds of businesses. Beth has worked at a senior
level for many years diagnosing and solving business problems, managing clients, developing
and improving processes and managing projects and business change.

Sparkhouse Studios - Behind the Scenes
Vicky Addison, Incubation & Centre Manager will be taking us on a behind the scenes tour of
Sparkhouse Studios.
Sparkhouse Studios provides the focus of a dynamic environment in which young start-up
businesses can be concentrated, nurtured and grown during the time they are most vulnerable. Its
location on the Brayford Campus enables the tenants within the centre to draw on, and benefit
from, the resources available within the University.
We will also be hearing from Caroline Hodgson about the Access To Innovation programme which
is available to Small Businesses in our area.
