The after lunch speaker was Annmarie McClintock, Managing Director of Oldrid & Co T/A Downtown. Annmarie gave an inspirational and informative presentation detailing her career history from leaving school at 16 to become a dental nurse, to joining the retail sector working her way up the management ladder firstly at Dorothy Perkins and then House of Fraser.
Three years ago Annemarie faced a huge challenge when she decided to leave a national retailer to join the, Lincolnshire based, family owned business of Oldrid & Co. During her very entertaining presentation she shared with us both the challenges and advantages of such a move.

A raffle was held in support of Breakthrough Breast Cancer, the charity favoured by our former Chair and Vice Chair, Christine Peacock who sadly died in the summer of 2009. £225 was raised for this very worthwhile charity www.breakthrough.org.uk.
I would like to thank the generous donation of raffle prizes from Oldrid & Co, Wright VigarAccountants, Streets Accountants, Glynis Fox of FoxMedia, Sheena Chapman of Very Important Pet Services, Carre Street Clinic, Lincoln College, Lincolnshire Co-operative, Allison Burrows of Abacus EW Consultancy Ltd, Carole Baggley of Kudos and Sam Ford of Original Touch.
Finally, I would like to wish all members a very Merry Christmas and glad tidings for the New Year. I am looking forward to the organisation going from strength to strength in 2010.
