AGM & Dealing with Difficult People 16th March 2010
The AGM took place on 16th March 2010 at Langleys offices. Present were ladies from businesses as diverse as the Lincolnshire Co-op to Lincoln College, T & R Financial Services to The Old Station Nursery.

The Chair, Kate Hindmarch, gave a brief annual report and Michelle Stocks, Treasurer, confirmed that the finances of the Group are good. Other members of the Working Group present gave further reports including Coral Willcox who is responsible for sole management of the website and who told us that the website has had 177 hits in the last month alone!
Coral made a plea to members for content for the website and if you have a good news story to tell, please forward to Kate Hindmarch who will forward it to Coral if it is appropriate.

We then heard from our speaker Beth Tyrrel. Women entrepreneurs were given hot tips on how to build great relationships. Business and management consultant Beth spoke to the members about the tricky topic of “Dealing with Difficult People.”
Beth, who runs Saxilby-based Tyrell Consulting Ltd said that, while it is easy to put people “into boxes”, taking time out to find out what makes them tick and responding to that can make life easier and companies more productive. But, ultimately, resolving problems may mean that someone has to change their perceptions.
Beth added that firms can benefit by using special exercises, which look at each workers’ strengths. She said these can help bosses to pull together particularly strong sales teams.
At our next meeting on April 20th 2010 we will be touring Sparkhouse Studios on the University of Lincoln campus and getting the lowdown on the Access to Innovation programme, which is designed to help small enterprises to succeed."
