Business Women’s Link ended 2019 on a high note, having given more than £450 to a homeless charity at the event.
Members and guests who attended our Christmas Luncheon dug deep to raise £450.82 for YMCA Lincolnshire, at Branston Hall Hotel, which attracted 70 diners!
The money quickly mounted up, thanks to a bumper raffle, which was topped off with the proceeds of a fun “Heads & Tails” game. But diners didn’t stop there, they also generously donated scores of toiletries which will make a real difference to those being helped by YMCA Lincolnshire this Christmastime.
Our featured guest speaker, the City of Lincoln Council’s Chief Executive Angela Andrews, inspired everyone with the story of how she had joined the local authority as a cashier, at the age of 18, and gradually risen through the ranks to become its first female Chief Executive 2015.
Angela encouraged BWL members and guests to believe in themselves and their abilities and to help inspire the women leaders of the future.
Diners were also entertained by musician Stephen Clarke.
