Networkers will be encouraged to get lippy next month when two Lincoln entrepreneurs add a splash of glitz, glamour and sparkle to a business event.

Rachel de Caux and Paula Short of Beauty Boulevard salon, who are the brains behind the phenomenally successful Glitter Lips range, will be the guest speakers at the popular annual Business Women’s Link (Lincolnshire) Lunch.

The lunch, which takes place at The Petwood Hotel in Woodhall Spa on Thursday, July 6, from 12 noon until 3pm, will also include a bumper raffle in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

In addition to enjoying a delicious three-course menu, diners will hear how Rachel and Paula’s Glitter Lips venture got off the ground after the pair casually walked into Top Shop in London’s Oxford Street. Staff spotted their eyecatching lips, sent photos to their head office and by the time the ladies were on the train heading back to Lincoln, they had been emailed by Millie Kendal OBE (founder of Ruby & Millie) and ex-VOGUE Beauty Editor Anna Marie Solowij, who were eager to know more. Within three months Glitter Lips was on Top Shop’s shelves and ever since then it’s been all go for Rachel and Paula, who have gone on to supply 600 stockists across the UK and Ireland and selected UK airports. The reach of the product is now as far as Australia, Sweden, New York and Denmark.

Along the way, their success has been supercharged by their membership of the Virgin Media Pioneers’ Network and appearances on ITV’s This Morning and  Dragons’ Den.

Last December, International Hair Cosmetics Ltd entered into a partnership with the Rachel and Paula and took a 30 per cent stakeholding in the Glitter Lips product – but there will be no let-up in the ladies’ determination take the brand forward.
